In this position, you will be responsible for providing the quality assurance support necessary to ensure that purchased parts and manufactured goods conform to industrial standards, company standards for design, procurement, manufacture and reliability.
• Publishes/reviews/distributes Quality reports and shares with suppliers & customers on a regular basis. • Analyzes, creates, and extracts information, report and analysis from data files using Excel, Access and Corporate Database. • Monitor key suppliers and key customers quality performance on regular basis • Develop on-going Quality monitoring reports and quality key performance indicators. • Analyze/troubleshoot/debug PCBAs and/or Systems identifying root-cause of failures using troubleshooting techniques and the ability to recommend appropriate and effective solutions. • Performs First Article Inspection (FAI) on PCBAs, pre-fab parts, sheet-metal parts, Systems etc following workmanship standards/procedures and company spec/guidelines. • Performs Source Inspection at suppliers’ sites as deemed necessary. • Performs a variety of non-routine tasks including functional testing and inspecting of PCBs. • Provides support to existing product lines & Receiving Inspection (RI). • Audits manufactured goods to ensure conformance to pertinent Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and standards. • Audits supplier products, procedures, practices and processes for conformity to existing configuration control documentation. • Writes and maintains applicable procedure and control documentation used by Suppliers, Quality Technicians and Inspectors to maintain quality control and assurance. • Develops implements and maintains Quality statistical data as required to ensure product/process trends and indicators are reviewed/analyzed and acted upon ensuring continuous improvement. • Approves/Authorizes material disposition during the inspection of materials as required, either at the supplier's facility or at Receiving Inspection (RI). • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities. Approves/Authorizes disposition of discrepant materials identified in the manufacturing process. Maintains associated data files, and generates periodic reports. • Audits Operations procedures, practices, and processes for conformity to established company standards and control documentation. • Meets with suppliers on a scheduled basis to review their quality performance and to resolve any quality issues. • Supports customers with quality related matters. • Assists in the selection, evaluation qualification and recommendation of new suppliers. Audits Suppliers’ site to verify conformity to standard procedures and practice. • May provide limited supervision to other Quality Technician in order to implement day-to-day priorities and functions. • Supports the Quality Management System group to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2000 & ISO 13485 Standards and other Quality Management Systems. • Plays an active role in the Corrective and Preventive Action Program. • Monitors ESD implementation • Actively participates in the QMS Internal Audit Program.
• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Quality Engineering - Electrical Engineering – Mechanical Engineering - or related field; 5+ years related experience and/or training in quality engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good knowledge and experience in PCBA manufacturing is a must. • Knowledge of ISO 13485 Standards and the production of medical devices • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Ability to develop reliability reports such as Gage R&R, Cpk, Ppk, MTBF, FMEA, FPY, Control Plans, etc. • Ability to develop work instructions and test procedures. • Ability to review an analyze PFMEA, FMEA, DFM, DFT, DFA (Design for Manufacturability- Test -and Assembly). • Ability to develop Quality Plans setting expectations during early stages of customer relationships. • Ability to use measurement & inspection tools and equipment such as Flukes, Calipers, Granite Table, Micrometers, Thread Gauges, Pin Gauges, etc. • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 & IPC-WHMA-620. ICS Certification is a plus. • Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing a plus.
