In this position, you will be responsible for business development and customer relations in North America for Transportation Business Line, which includes Rail and In-Vehicle customer segments.
• Develops and executes the Transportation (TR) Business Development reporting to the Head of Transportation Business Line, N. America. • Defines the Business Development targets and roadmaps together with the Head of Transportation Business Line, N. America. • Identifies and pursues greenfield and brownfield opportunities to expand the Transportation business in N. America and support business globally. • Develops ecosystem partnerships and channels to expand into new revenue streams. • Contributes to the portfolio of Transportation business line in terms of specific products / platforms working with Product Management, Sales, Operations and Engineering teams. • Listen and analyze customer needs, prospects and market trends to align Rail and In-Vehicle portfolio. • Analyzes competitive landscape, the technology and standards for Transportation sub-segments • Works with portfolio and program management for alignment with R&D/Eng. in Transportation platform development • Ensures alignment with Operations in terms of supply chain, unit cost • Provides direction, new leads and support to sales team and the customers with Transportation expertise • Provides support for Bids & Proposals in terms of Rail and In-Vehicle solutions; Reviews proposal requests and submissions for approvals on solutions, pricing and business models. • Drives vertical marketing for the Transportation business line working with the Portfolio and Product Marketing Team.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering required (MS or MBA preferred) • Transportation (preferably Rail) products and services experience very desirable. • Experience in embedded computer systems business development, sales or product management preferred. • Skills and expertise / professional experience: • 10+ years of business experience in Transportation market segments (Rail, In-Vehicle, on-road/off-road vehicle) • Excellent knowledge of Transportation market, standards, norms, competition, applicable technologies • Good experience with software solutions and integration • Good knowledge of business, ROI, profitability • Excellent interpersonal skills (technical and sales) • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills • Innovation and differentiation oriented, driver by profitability and return on investment. • Opinion leader in the field: convince and foster energies across the company
